City Life In The Fall?
The fall is my favourite time of year. I love the crisp air, the beautiful September moon, the colours. Unfortunately, right now it's laden with memories from the past that make me sad. I miss my home in the country. I miss the fall harvest, the smell of woodstove fires, the cries of hundreds of Canada geese flying south, piercing the stillness.
So the question is ... how do I enjoy the time of year I've always associated with the country, in the city? How do I reconcile the fall and urban living to make new memories, but allow myself to enjoy familiar comforts that have been there since childhood? Good question. I'll have to mull that one over.

Perhaps by starting new Fall traditions? A City Solstice of sorts. Finding the smells and sounds and tastes that the urban dweller in you celebrates. You don't have to let go of the things that you enjoyed in the past in order to try different things. There is enough space in you to have both exist.
Just my two cents.
Happy Autumning. : )
I received a work-related e-newsletter today. The author signed off by writing: Enjoy the grandeur of the autumn beckoning in your part of the world. I thought that was pretty cool.
Give it a bit of time - let the city take on its fall hue and I'm sure you'll find a way to become enchanted in a whole new way, as lala suggests... If not, I'll no doubt have a few leaves that'll need raking - that might help!! :-)
PAX,
