Favourite Things: My Window on the World

This is the door to my balcony. It's in my dining room. I love it. Actually there are two doors: one solid door that locks with a skeleton key, and a second wooden screen door that makes a loud clapping sound when you close it too hard. In the winter, I have to stuff folded cardboard boxes between the two to stop the cold wind from blowing into the apartment. I guess the solid door isn't so solid anymore. I still love it.














One my favourite things to do is stand at the balcony window and watch whatever's unfolding at the time. I watch the people walking on the street below, the birds in the trees at eye level, and just last night I watched an almost full moon rise from the rooftops.

It's my little window on the world.
