Where Was Everybody?

A friend and I were out last night looking for a place to whoop it up a little on her birthday. Aside from a few clumps of people like us, all dressed up wandering around looking for a bit of fun, the streets were empty and so were the dance floors. I know Ottawa is by no means the "city that never sleeps" but my goodness it was so dead I'm surprised we didn't hear crickets! Where was everybody?

Although a little disappointed - and quite frankly a little stunned - we didn't let that faze us. We made our way to the local pub, giggled and gabbed like schoolgirls over Kilkenny and a rum & coke, then treated ourselves to a late night / early morning poutine at the local diner. Sweet.
